Included "The Window" project and Twilight River Parade as well as the regular schools and community workshop program. 15,334 people attended 42 events and exhibitions.

"The Window" project and Twilight River Parade, a visual extravaganza of music, song, dance, masks, puppetry, river floats and magnificent inflatable sets, launched the festival on the banks of the Wimmera River. Director, Jillian Pearce and sculptor, Andrew Blizzard were the two key faces behind the creation & direction of this years opening event. They worked together to conceive and produce the visual dynamics of this opening event through community based workshops.

Community Workshop Program - A group of professional artists worked in Horsham and travelled throughout the region in a mobile arts resource van sharing their expertise with community and school groups. These workshops generated art works for use during the festival, including performances, costumes, props, puppets, post office banners and street decoration.

... such fertile ground... a large scale installation designed by Anthony Pelchen, constructed on agricultural land and viewed from the summit of Mt Arapiles.

A diverse program including regular community events Gemstone & Mineral exhibition, first Floral Art exhibition with local churches, Wood Turners wood exhibition, films, visual art exhibitions and performances by Neil Murray and Australian String Quartet.

This was the year that we moved into our new office space in Firebrace Street - an important milestone.
